In the simplest terms, dozytunes is an alt pop/rap/indie music blog. Written by a genuine fan without AI bullshit hoping to draw attention to some of the best talents in the space. A unique interest of mine is the intersection of substance use and music. Drug culture and indie music have always had a symbiotic relationship ;))

I created this blog because I’ve noticed that there is a lack of alt music spaces for the specific artists I like (e.g. modern hyperpop-influenced rappers Mercury and Coco and Clair Clair, the queen of hyperpop: indie star Kitty Ray, along with the the up-and-coming Irish underground rappers, notably Curtisy, sugabooo and Lil Skag).

As of May 2026, I post on a regular basis. I post ‘Song Spotlights’ where I explore the instrumentals, meaning and cultural context behind ethereal music. Sometimes, I’ll post album reviews too. In the future, I hope to publish interviews with some of these rising talents.
